Who are you?

You can be just letters and alphabets
You can have poison arrows
You can also be of comfort to others

The glory of history
The excitement of a story
The enlightening words of Great Teachers
The confusion of misinformation
Flow through endless permutations and combinations

You don't have any intentions
You are merely words created by the thoughts of different individuals
You are the creation of different minds
You are instruments of different kinds

Hurtful words erupting in the atmosphere find their way to the vulnerable
They can stay there festering, not knowing where to go
They can stay on and on
Going in deep
Disease of the soul creeps in

My dear heart
Must you ripple to the little stones thrown at you?
Must you be stirred by words that offend you?
Must you respond to unpleasant words with negative emotions?
Must you blame others for the words they chose?
Must you give permission for your soul's hurt?
